Reseat memory. Correctable memory error logging limit reached on DIMM

Reseat memory. Correctable memory error logging limit reached on DIMM

On a Dell PowerEdge R630 server the following error is displayed:

A3. Reseat memory. Correctable memory error rate exceeded.

Simillar error is displayed on iDRAC:

Correctable Memory Error Log Limit Reached

image 1024x595 - Reseat memory. Correctable memory error logging limit reached on DIMM

This error indicates that there is a problem with this card and it should be replaced. The first thing to check is if all the RAM is visible on the server:

image 1 - Reseat memory. Correctable memory error logging limit reached on DIMM

If all RAM is visible and usable, then the problem was detected on time and you should perform the following steps to resolve it:

Update BIOS and IPMI

Update the service processor firmware and BIOS for the server.

Swap or Replace DIMM

Swap faulted DIMM with any other DIMM. If the issue is followed to new slot replace the faulty DIMM, but if the issue stays back in the same slot replace the motherboard.
